Boarding

Brockhurst aims to make boarding an extension of family life. The Deputy Head and his family live in the school and he acts as Housemaster to the boarders with the assistance of his wife who is a qualified SRN and the resident matrons.

In recent years, boarding at Brockhurst has evolved into a flexible system which allows boys to board for one or more nights a week according to choice and in consequence our boarding places are now over-subscribed. Boarders have their own common room in which to relax.

Our system of flexi-boarding gives boys all the fun that is shared in a boarding community and enables them to take advantage of the many hobbies and activities provided for them during evenings and at weekends.

Outings and educational trips are an important part of boarding and school life at Brockhurst.

By living together they learn to share and to have consideration for others and, with encouragement, they learn to stand on their own feet and, increasingly, to shoulder responsibility.
